Mrs Sawyer:

For those of you who do not know me yet, I love many things but some of my favourites are reading, ducks and cheese. My favourite thing to do is get stuck in a really good book and let my imagination run wild in its words and creativity. You will often find me in our school library or celebrating books at our school as I am also the Reading lead at Ravenshead too.

Ms Argent:

I love English and especially writing where if I'm not careful, I can get carried away!  I also love books too and will take any opportunity to escape into one!

We have an amazing year planned for you with so much exciting work. We are going to become space experts by exploring the Solar System, discovering fascinating planets like Mars, Jupiter and Saturn. We will also look at human space achievements, such as the Apollo 11 Lunar Landing. We are going to travel in a time machine to explore Roman times.  We will learn about what has had the most impact on our world, what impact pollution has had as well as what our local area is like.  Finally, we will learn about how to stay safe in the modern world.We hope you are all ready to get lost in our wonderful learning and the exciting things we have planned for Year 5. We hope that you're as excited for these awesome topics as we are!
