Hi everyone, I'm Mrs Winfield and I am one of your Year 6 teachers. I absolutely love working in Year 6 - it's such a privilege to get to see you through your final year at our school. It's even more special that for some of you, I have been part of your journey since the very beginning - in Foundation and/or in Year 3. Because I know some of you so well already I am already confident that you're going to be one of our most amazing Year 6's yet! On the first day back you each wrote a letter to your future selves - to be opened in our last week together. I can't wait to find out how much you've changed and what goals you've achieved.
For those of you who don't know me so well yet here's a little bit about me. My favourite school subjects are Maths and PE but I also really enjoy anything that involves being creative and messing up the classroom (don't tell Mrs Johnson!) - things like Art, Drama and DT. Outside of school my favourite things are food, family and football. I have 2 children who are both in (a different) Primary School, I love baking with them and walking our dog, Maverick the crazy Cocker Spaniel. You all know my team is Nottingham Forest, who I like to go and watch whenever I can. Mostly though, I watch my son play for his grassroots team which I love to do.
Hello, I'm Ms Argent and I work in Year 6 teaching both Hawks and Wolves, as well as doing nurture and well-being. I have worked at Ravenshead C of E Primary School for many, many years, which just goes to show how much I enjoy it! My children also attended this school before going on to Joseph Whitaker. My daughter is now an artist in London and my son is at University studying Wildlife Conservation. Unsurprisingly, art and animals are very much two of my favourite things. Being creative is definitely a passion of mine and I love bringing creativity into the classroom as it is something that all children enjoy. I love opening children's eyes up to new artists, new ways of being creative and usually our sketchbooks are filled with a variety of art styles. I also really like teaching English - reading is another hobby of mine. I was lucky enough to teach some of your children in Year 5 when I did some cover for Mr Evans, and it really is very special to be their last teacher at primary school where I get to watch them blossom and gain the confidence that they will need for their journey on to secondary school.
