Hawks (Year 6) - Mrs Soley and Mrs Richardson
Hello and welcome to Hawks! We are so excited to work with you all this year. We are super lucky this year to have some amazing adults in Y6. Ms Argent, Miss Gent, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Thornton and Mr Hurst will be working within our year group - working with individuals, groups as well as supporting with interventions across the day too.
We have some exciting topic worked planned and will begin with learning all about the Ancient Egyptians before moving on to a geography based topic finding out how biomes work. In the Spring term, we will learn about how wars have affected our world and then focus on how we can prepare for the future, particularly as we get ready for secondary school. Our KS2 SATs assessments will be in May. This is a chance to shine and show off how fantastic you have been especially over the last 4 years in Key Stage 2.
We have our Holocaust museum visit in January. This is an incredible experience where we will delve into the events of World War 2 and The Holocaust. The visit is done through the eyes of a boy called Leo and allows us to gain an in-site into what life was like for Jewish people during the war. We also have our residential in March to PGL Caythorpe. It is great to see you all face your fears and have fun with your friends.
Year 6 is a jam packed year but full of fun times to mark the end of your primary school life. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to answer them.
