Keeping Safe Week and Mental Health Week
Fri 11 Feb 2022We had a special week where the children learnt about how to keep themselves safe (protective behaviours). They learnt about early warning signs, which trusted adults they could talk to, how to stay safe on the internet and about the NSPCC Pants are Private.
In addition, the children learnt about how to improve their mental health and tips and how strategies such as drawing, being outside, listening to music can all help. We also discussed different people we could talk to if we had worries, anxieties or were suffering with our mental health. Our week ended with a 'Dress to Express Day' where children came to school wearing whatever they wanted in recognition that we are all different and that is a truly wonderful thing.

Read Aloud Day
Wed 02 Feb 2022The whole school a very exciting ‘READ ALOUD DAY’. The children were all really enthusiastic and brave. They practised reading their favourite books in the reading area. At the end of the day the children read a few pages to the whole class! We also enjoyed listening to a story from our Headteacher, Mrs Johnson. She read Dogger to us by Shirley Hughes. Did you know that book is 45 years old? Mrs Johnson loved reading this book to her sons as they were growing up. The pictures below are of Year One. Well done to all the children and thank you for sharing your love of reading.
