  • Learning Together Days

    Fri 19 Nov 2021

We were delighted to welcome parents and carers into the school this week as part of our Learning Together Days.  The challenge this time was to create a racing Rudolph, or a Christmas themed racer using a balloon and we then raced them along string to see which was the fastest!  It was incredibly exciting and also very entertaining at the same time.  Thank you to all of the parents and carers that attended.

  • Year 3 Jingle Jog

    Fri 19 Nov 2021

This week, the Year 3 children had a great time at Sherwood Pines taking part in the Joseph Whitaker family of schools 'Jingle Jog'.  All of the children were given a Santa hat, did a warm up to Christmas songs and then ran 3km!  The children were absolutely brilliant and some ran so fast, they were exhausted and fell asleep on the bus on the way home!

  • Anti-bullying Week

    Mon 15 Nov 2021

This week, the whole school is taking part in Anti-bullying Week and today we are wearing odd socks to show that we are all different.  All of the children will also be writing one kind word which will then be displayed in the school as a reminder of the importance of always being kind.

  • Phonics Parent/Carer Workshop

    Fri 05 Nov 2021

Thank you to the parents and carers who attended our DECODABLE READING BOOKS AND PHONICS SCREENING workshop with Mrs Walker.
Also, big thank you to the children who attended too for helping Mrs Walker show how we teach phonics. You were amazing!

If you missed this workshop, Mrs Walker has made two videos which can be found on our website in the Curriculum section (reading, phonics).

Please look out for further activities to support your child with reading this year!

  • Loose Parts Play

    Fri 05 Nov 2021

This week, Key Stage 2 have started using the loose parts at playtime. They've been creating lots of different activities from balance courses to see-saws and it's been so wonderful to see the excitement. The children have been risk assessing the activities and also working together across year groups as part of a team. Next week, we will be introducing more items and extending it to lunchtimes.
