Welcome to Mrs Rice's class, Woodpeckers. I love teaching in Year 1 and especially love anything creative. I also love working out in the garden and in our amazing woodlands. 

In Year 1 we love exploring and learning new things through play. We have lots of continuous provision which enables the children to be fully involved in practical learning experiences. We are extremely lucky to have our own woodland in school, which we love to use as much as we can. Each week we visit the woods and try out lots of new things that link to our learning and also develop lots of other skills too. In Year 1 we learn lots of exciting things about fairy tales, the Arctic, life in the past, where food comes from, the local community and all about animals.
