  • Visit to the National Justice Museum - Year 4

    Tue 01 Mar 2022

The Year 4s had a fabulous time at the National Justice Museum today. The children listened really well to our guide and enjoyed looking in the dungeons, the Edwardian prison and the Victorian prison this morning. This afternoon, they did a super job in the trial - especially the barristers and the witnesses who had to do a fair bit of thinking on their feet.

  • Keeping Safe Week and Mental Health Week

    Fri 11 Feb 2022

We had a special week where the children learnt about how to keep themselves safe (protective behaviours).  They learnt about early warning signs, which trusted adults they could talk to, how to stay safe on the internet and about the NSPCC Pants are Private.

In addition, the children learnt about how to improve their mental health and tips and how strategies such as drawing, being outside, listening to music can all help.  We also discussed different people we could talk to if we had worries, anxieties or were suffering with our mental health.  Our week ended with a 'Dress to Express Day' where children came to school wearing whatever they wanted in recognition that we are all different and that is a truly wonderful thing.

  • Read Aloud Day

    Wed 02 Feb 2022

The whole school a very exciting ‘READ ALOUD DAY’. The children were all really enthusiastic and brave. They practised reading their favourite books in the reading area. At the end of the day the children read a few pages to the whole class! We also enjoyed listening to a story from our Headteacher, Mrs Johnson. She read Dogger to us by Shirley Hughes. Did you know that book is 45 years old? Mrs Johnson loved reading this book to her sons as they were growing up. The pictures below are of Year One.  Well done to all the children and thank you for sharing your love of reading.

  • Learning Together Days

    Fri 19 Nov 2021

We were delighted to welcome parents and carers into the school this week as part of our Learning Together Days.  The challenge this time was to create a racing Rudolph, or a Christmas themed racer using a balloon and we then raced them along string to see which was the fastest!  It was incredibly exciting and also very entertaining at the same time.  Thank you to all of the parents and carers that attended.
