Year 3 Jingle Jog
Fri 19 Nov 2021This week, the Year 3 children had a great time at Sherwood Pines taking part in the Joseph Whitaker family of schools 'Jingle Jog'. All of the children were given a Santa hat, did a warm up to Christmas songs and then ran 3km! The children were absolutely brilliant and some ran so fast, they were exhausted and fell asleep on the bus on the way home!

Anti-bullying Week
Mon 15 Nov 2021This week, the whole school is taking part in Anti-bullying Week and today we are wearing odd socks to show that we are all different. All of the children will also be writing one kind word which will then be displayed in the school as a reminder of the importance of always being kind.

Phonics Parent/Carer Workshop
Fri 05 Nov 2021Thank you to the parents and carers who attended our DECODABLE READING BOOKS AND PHONICS SCREENING workshop with Mrs Walker.
Also, big thank you to the children who attended too for helping Mrs Walker show how we teach phonics. You were amazing!
If you missed this workshop, Mrs Walker has made two videos which can be found on our website in the Curriculum section (reading, phonics).

Loose Parts Play
Fri 05 Nov 2021This week, Key Stage 2 have started using the loose parts at playtime. They've been creating lots of different activities from balance courses to see-saws and it's been so wonderful to see the excitement. The children have been risk assessing the activities and also working together across year groups as part of a team. Next week, we will be introducing more items and extending it to lunchtimes.

I will be shortly sending a £30 National Book Token to your electronically to spend on a few extra books for your lovely library. I love the Alice in Wonderland theme, especially the chess pieces on the ceiling!

Viking Museum created by Year 3
Mon 17 May 2021The children have become museum curators this week and researched important Viking artefacts before creating their own museum exhibit to illustrate the legacy that they left. The children did a brilliant job and some even added interactive voice notes to their exhibitions!

Parent Governor Elections - now active
Mon 10 May 2021We are looking for a parent governor to join our wonderful governing body. We are looking for parents who have the skills required to contribute to effective governance and the success of the school. Your skills may include personal attributes, qualities and capabilities, such as the ability and willingness to learn and develop new skills as well as skills you may have obtained through your work.
Each nomination must be received at the school by 10.00 am on Monday 17 May 2021.

Historians in Year 4!
Fri 07 May 2021The Y4 children have been finding out about the Lindow Man this week - a preserved pre-historic body found in a bog during the 1980s. They then made these excellent clay models of this significant find!

Red Nose Day 2021
Fri 19 Mar 2021Today we celebrated Red Nose Day and the children dressed up in non-uniform and many also sported a drawn-on red nose! They looked amazing and thank you for all of the donations made to this worthy cause. -
Class Nativities available to view now!
