  • Children In Need

    Fri 18 Nov 2022

All of the children looked wonderful in their spotty and Pudsy-adorned outfits today for Children in Need day.  They brought in donations for this worthwhile cause and lots of the classes completed Children In Need activities as part of their class work.

  • Olympian Rebecca Adlington Visit

    Thu 29 Sep 2022

On Thursday, the children had a very special visitor in Collective Worship - Rebecca Adlington! Rebecca is an Olympic, World, Commonwealth and European medalist, winning two gold and two bronze medals in Beijing and London respectively for swimming.  She came to speak to the children about water safety and how the children should always swim with an adult present. Rebecca then spoke about her journey to becoming an Olympian, including getting up at 4.30am to do 2 hours training before school! The children asked her some amazing questions and even got to see the real Olympic medals.

  • Book of Condolence for the Queen

    Fri 16 Sep 2022

We were all saddened to hear of the Queen's passing on the 8th. September, 2022.  The children create a book of condolence which will be sent to Buckingham Palace.

  • Tour of Britain

    Fri 09 Sep 2022

We took a small group of Y5 and Y6 children to go and watch the ‘Tour of Britain’ yesterday. It was very exciting to watch all of the police motorcycles and team cars come past ahead of the cyclists. The cyclists were extremely fast and it was a great experience to watch them. We took lots of photos and shared them with the children when we came back to school.

  • Jubilee Celebrations

    Fri 27 May 2022

We celebrated the Platinum Jubilee in style on the last day of this half term.  The children looked wonderful dressed in their red, white and blue clothes and each class spent the day on Jubilee themed activities.  The whole school gathered together on the field at lunchtime for a picnic and there was even music playing from the decades that the queen has ruled.  We had a fantastic time!

  • Help for Ukraine

    Fri 04 Mar 2022

A huge thank you to everyone that sent in donations for the Ukraine.  It was a real team effort to get it to its destination, with the some 6s helping to load the van and Mrs Syrett, her father-in-law and Mrs Johnson taking it to Taylors depot.  Mrs Johnson said that it was quite overwhelming and there were already two full articulated lorries and this was the second depot as the first depot was full!

  • Smart School Council Cake Sale

    Fri 04 Mar 2022

We were overwhelmed with the response to the children's Smart School Council Cake Sale which took place today.  All of the children had voted to raise money for a charity during their Smart School Council and selected the local Rainbows Hospice which supports families who have a child with a serious or terminal illness.  The children organised the advertising, organisation, communications and the event itself.  They raised a whopping £525.38!

A huge thank you to the children for all of their work and to the parents and carers for donating cakes.  The children plan to contact Rainbows Hospice to ask them to come in for a special assembly.

  • Collecting for Ukraine

    Fri 04 Mar 2022

The school community has really pulled together to collect useful items to send to the Ukraine.  We have been staggered by our families generosity and look forward to taking the donations (which are still growing) to Taylors Transport later.

  • World Book Day

    Thu 03 Mar 2022

The children looked fabulous in their World Book Day outfits when they came dressed as characters from their favourite books.  We had a wonderful time watching a live stream of Michael Rosen and joined in with some of his poems as a special World Book Day assembly.  Year 3 and Year 2 were also lucky enough to visit the library.

  • Visit to the National Justice Museum - Year 4

    Tue 01 Mar 2022

The Year 4s had a fabulous time at the National Justice Museum today. The children listened really well to our guide and enjoyed looking in the dungeons, the Edwardian prison and the Victorian prison this morning. This afternoon, they did a super job in the trial - especially the barristers and the witnesses who had to do a fair bit of thinking on their feet.
